There’s more to you
than OCD

OCD can take up time and energy that you want for other things. It can shape your work, your plans and your time with the people close to you.

Asking for help can mean telling someone you have never met about thoughts that are hard to put into words. Finding a therapist who works with OCD can mean a long wait, or contacting therapists one by one.

When reOCD opens, you will work with a therapist approved for OCD, starting from what you want to change.

What to expect
when reOCD opens

At your first appointment, you will talk through what matters to you and what you want to change. Your therapist will explain how they would approach it, and you will decide together whether to book more.

  1. A short request

You will tell us what you want to change. A therapist will read your request before anything is booked.

  2. A first appointment by video

You will talk through what you need and whether your therapist’s approach suits you.

  3. A plan you agree

Your therapist will propose a plan, and it will go ahead only once you agree it. Any change will need your agreement again.

  4. Regular reviews

You and your therapist will agree the goal, the approach and each next step. You will be able to stop at any point.

I know what it is like to live with phobias and OCD, and to work through exposure-based treatment. That experience is part of why I founded Rephobia.

Liam Harte, founder of Rephobia Limited, the company behind reOCD. Built in Belfast.

Rephobia Limited’s earlier work on phobias: awards, coverage and research. None of it concerns OCD.

Before reOCD opens

Where things stand today, where to get help, and what is still to be decided.

Can I get help from reOCD now?

Not yet. For help with OCD now, in England you can refer yourself to NHS Talking Therapies without seeing your GP first. Anywhere in the UK or Ireland, your GP can tell you about NHS, HSC or HSE services where you live. A private therapist who works with OCD is another option.

When will reOCD open?

Once therapists who work with OCD have joined and Rephobia Limited has approved them for it. No date is set.

Can you tell me when it opens?

Not at the moment. There is no list to join.

Who will reOCD be for?

Adults aged 18 or over in the UK and Ireland who live with OCD and want to work on it with a therapist online.

Who will I see once it opens?

A therapist who works with OCD and takes appointments online. Rephobia Limited will review each therapist’s professional details and approve them for OCD before any request reaches them.

What kind of treatment will it offer?

That is still to be decided, and a qualified clinician will review it before reOCD opens. For context, NICE writes guidance for England and Wales. Its guideline CG31 recommends cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) that includes exposure and response prevention (ERP) for adults with OCD. That describes a recognised approach in general. It says nothing about reOCD, which has not treated anyone.

What will it cost?

Costs are still to be decided. There is nothing to pay today.

Does this site collect anything about me?

This site asks for no details about you. Its web server keeps standard logs of visits, as most websites do. Our privacy notice explains what those logs hold and who is responsible for them.

Who is behind reOCD?

reOCD is a trading name of Rephobia Limited, a small company in Belfast that also runs Rephobia, a service for phobias. Who we are tells the founder’s story.

I live with a phobia too. Can I get help with that?

Rephobia, run by the same company, is preparing online phobia treatment with a therapist by video. It is not open to the public yet. For help with a phobia now, your GP can tell you about services where you live. You can read about Rephobia.

What if I need help urgently?

reOCD is not an emergency service. If you are in danger or need help now, call 999 (112 in Ireland). For urgent advice in England, Scotland or Wales, call 111. In Northern Ireland or Ireland, contact your GP or the GP out-of-hours service. To talk to someone at any time, call Samaritans free on 116 123.

Where to get help with OCD today

The Opening soon page covers your options across the UK and Ireland and what to do if you need help urgently. It also tells you about Rephobia, our sister service for phobias.
